Reservation rules

This is the single most misunderstood rule in deemed counselling. If your plan depends on reservation benefits, read this first.

No caste-based reservation applies

SC / ST / OBC-NCL / EWS / PwD reservations do not apply to any deemed university seat. Paid seats are allotted on pure NEET merit. The only non-merit categories are NRI and minority quotas. Source: MCC NEET UG Information Bulletin 2025.

OCI cardholder eligibility

OCI cardholders are eligible for both UR (Paid) seats and NRI quota seats, per SC order dated 03.02.2023 (W.P.(C) 891/2021).
OCI card issued before 04.03.2021: eligible for UR and NRI quota.
OCI card issued on/after 04.03.2021: treated per the latest prospective SC direction — verify your status on the MCC portal before registering.
