The University of Lucknow is a public research university in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1864 in Lucknow as Canning College, it is one of the India’s 17 oldest universities established during British India, the 10th oldest university in present-day India, the fourth-oldest university in Uttar Pradesh, and the first state university in Uttar Pradesh.
